SERVICE
INFORMATION
Thank you for
purchasing the Ncase Portable
Safe
Your
Ncase was designed to provide
years of trouble-free service. An occasional shot of a
light lubricant in the lock mechanism may be helpful,
otherwise it will need little service.
Servicing the LOCK: If it becomes difficult to operate,
the locking mechanism may be lubricated with any product
designed for that purpose. We do not recommend graphite.
Servicing the CABLE: In the unlikely event that it becomes
damaged, the cable can be replaced. Replacement cables
can be ordered for $15 (includes shipping and handling).
Servicing the
INTERIOR: If it
becomes soiled, the inside can be cleaned with a vacuum.
If necessary, the lining can be gently washed with soap
& water. Dry
thoroughly. We do not
recommend vigorous scrubbing , but a dry brushing will
keep it clean and looking good.
Servicing the
ALUMINUM SURFACE:
If it
becomes soiled, the aluminum surface can be
gently washed with soap and water. Dry thoroughly. A
non-corrosive solvent (like alcohol) may also be
used.
If
scratches and small dents appear in the aluminum
cover, we recommend you accept them gracefully as
a sign of use and service. Most scratches can be
polished out, but polishing will change the
surface appearance from "brushed" to
"shiny".
It may be
possible to remove small dents by pressing them
out from the inside, but we doubt that you will
be happy with the result and we discourage you
from trying. Aluminum is light and strong, but
the material is too soft to "pop" out
most dents.
Servicing the
HITCH PIN:
If it
gets bent, you may try to straighten the hitch
pin with your fingers. If this is not practical
or you are not satisfied with the result, replace
the bent pin with the spare.
If the
pin needs to be replaced, take the cable to a
hardware store and buy the largest diameter hitch
pin which fits in the hole drilled in the chrome
pin on the end.
Servicing the
SHOULDER STRAP:
If the
nylon web becomes soiled, it can be gently washed
with soap and water.
If the
chrome fittings becomes difficult to operate or
are subjected to salty ocean air, an occasional
shot of a light lubricant will keep them looking
and operating well.
Questions,
comments and/or concerns are always appreciated!
